A free app for Android, by Institut dEstudis Catalans.
This application has been developed by the Institut d'Estudis Catalans (DIEC), the academic, scientific and cultural entity of the Catalan language, in order to provide the users with a tool to access their dictionary. The application is intended for the users of the dictionary, as well as for those who are studying the Catalan language. It provides them with all the information that is necessary in order to use the application correctly.
The dictionary consists of the following sections:
- Linguistic data: the letters, the words, the sentences, the paragraphs, etc.
- The phonetic transcription: the letters that represent the sound of the word, the sound of the sentence, etc.
- The translation: the word that corresponds to the word in the language.
- The definitions: the meanings of the words, the meanings of the phrases, etc.
- The examples: a sentence and its translation.
- The grammar: the structure of the sentences, etc.
- The synonyms: the words that have the same meaning.
